Get a little kinky is the advice from health officials.
Sex partners are being encouraged to make it a little kinky to ensure their bedroom rendezvous don’t lead to the spread of COVID-19
The Insider.com reported that residents of New York City Department of Health released advice for its city’s residents earlier this week, but globally we could learn a lot from the guidelines.
The safe-sex suggestions cover:
The guidelines from the NYC DoH state "Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls that allow sexual contact without face to face contact”. For partners who don’t reside together, they suggest the use of face masks. A study conducted by Harvard Medical School suggested wearing masks could reduce the risk of contamination. Condoms and dental dams could also reduce coming into contact with bodily fluids.
.The recommendations discourage group sex, encouraged mutual masturbation, positions that don’t face each other such as doggy, hot seat, seated wheelbarrow, and delivering into the digital realm such as sexting, video sex or tantalising zoom meetings. The guidelines also stated hygiene standards should still be upheld including washing your hands for at least 20 seconds before and after sex, using soap and water to clean sex toys and disinfect keyboards and computer mouses that you share with other people.
